takeover rumours?

Takeover rumours, the last refuge of screwed-up shareholders.

When things are so bad they can't come up with a single reason why to buy a stock, the standard line is: at this price is a takeover target...

Yeah, sure. Have a look at Apple, where Mac moonies have been saying that all along from $45 per share down to a low of $13. And every time some potential suitor explored a takeover, they saw there was a reason why the stock price was so low, and they were not willing to buy the company.

Corel is in a sorry enough shape, that it is hard to justify a price over $2.30 per share, even for a rich takeover proposition....

Having said that, I think we are likely to see a takeover around $2.00 per share, plus a rich severance package for Cowpland (remember Mitel anyone?).

IBM kept coming up
