The government did step in and help to the tune of many of trillions of dollars. Some of you on the extreme left think the only solution no matter what the problem is to dump unlimited cash to everyone whether it makes sense to or not. That is more than crazy it is economic suicide! Why do you think the stock market keeps going to new highs? People have so much cash that they can't figure out what to do with it! There are people in need, I do agree, but there has to be some thought and pragmatism used to target the money!!!! AND that includes the democrates and their ridiculous $600 bucks a week to not work.

You keep straying off into the weeds. Weeds that you brought up. Trump and the Republicans have no idea what to do, but the Democrats do!! Actually if not for Trump any other Republican would have done much better. They'd have listened to Fauci and others and promoted intelligent policies. Trump doesn't because of his character flaws .... he approaches every issue as a lifelong bullshitter and liar, looking for the quick easy answer. Masks are bad because of his vanity. Social distancing means no more ego boosting rallies. He saw something early on about chloroquine being a miracle cure and he latched onto it and has pushed it ever since. Anyone without his character flaws wouldn't have made those mistakes. Trump is the very worst the GOP could come up with which is why I've been critical of him for the past 4+ years. The big question is why the GOP chose him over saner candidates. Very unfortunately for the party and country, his character flaws were actually a plus for him. A big part of the GOP base secretly likes those character flaws. At least thats my opinion.
