What have we done in the last 50 years, besides saying, "We're your friends"? We elect blacks, but then...?? We haven't even been able to save the voting rights act.

That is dead wrong. You think African Americans are Democrats because of LBJ.

Most blacks, at least in the south, are allowed to vote because of the voting rights act. Technically, it wasn't JUST LBJ. But he was the President who got voting rights passed.

Every person who voted against the 1964 civil rights act was a conservative, either a standard Republican conservative or a southern Dixiecrat conservative.

Southern Dixiecrats were pretty standard Democrats at the time.

The Democratic party has always given a seat at the table to all minorities.

And Lincoln was a hard core liberal!!
