we played cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, on the weekends we only went home when it was suppertime, it was a great time to be a kid, our corner store had candies that were racist but we didn't know it

I was bilingual when I was small, French was my first language, My Grandma only spoke French, I have fond memories of all the Family at her house singing french traditional songs, curious we always called her Mamere which in proper French means my mother, all her kids, my Uncles, Aunts and my Mom called her that so us kids did too. never thought of this until just now, we spoke a slang French, family on my mother side were raised on a farm in Alberta
