I would agree that shorts more often than not do much better DD than longs, but Y2K is a sector wholly unto itself in that people either see moonshot or scam and go long or short accordingly. I would further venture to say that very few investors are savvy enough to distinguish one Y2K company from another and thus just play perceived momentum, up or down, since it's obvious the sector is extremely volatile.

In ALYD's case, with earnings coming soon and no contract announcements made since December, I think it safe to say that shorting it would be quite unwise.
