I really hope that AMD (the company, I could care less about the stock) can survive because I think competition is good for all. Good for consumers, good for the industry, and good for Intel. However, it completely mistifies me that some people don't understand that Jerry Sanders is not the man. I hear a lot of crap here about this benchmark or that benchmark but the bottom line is that Sanders is a failed leader with losing strategies. The name of the game is to make money. AMD was suppose to start making money again last year. That's what investors believed at the beginning of 1997, that's what the analysts expected, and that's what the company expected. Yet, today they continue to bleed red ink. Here we are at the beginning of 1998 and the same conditions exist. AMD is suppose to make money this year. We'll see....
