Do you people have lives? 90% plus content on this thread is a waste of bandwidth. No great loss if SI pulled the plug here, or alternatively, let it be moderated by someone who's not afraid of using the ban feature. Just my opinion..

Sorry to hear of your illness. Maybe I can offer some help for your dilemma on this thread. It used to be totally unmoderated. Now you are trying to moderate it with rules that have not been stated clearly. So if you want to moderate it after years of "anything goes - we don't monitor Political Threads" - I'd suggest that you state your rules in the Thread Header and from then on, enforce them meticulously. In order to enforce the rules FAIRLY, you will need to read every post so that you have context for what you are reading. Perhaps someone (mindmeld?) would step forward and offer to help you.
