Mohan, I guess I have made up my mind about Indonesia: I will
not consider it at all before any political changes occur,
meaning Suharto either leaving or dying.


I wish you would not reduce complex issues for an entire country
to such simple statements.
It is not clear that Suharto "leaving or dying"
leads to anything better.

Suharto might be guilty of doling wealth and priviliges to his
friends and relatives.
However, he moderates the "anti-chinese" and "Islam vs others"
hateful political fringe groups in that part. If they come to
power at his "dying or leaving", that could be worse.
That Indonesia can use political reforms is undeniable..but
the best person to start them might be Suharto himself.
