A good piece. Taiwan is not mentioned, though. How will Taiwan be reintegrated into China, peacefully?

On the subject of the delusions of the Great Game, the story of the invasion of Tibet is illuminating. Tibetans armed with muskets and spears mowed down by machine gun, and when they got to Lhasa they discovered ... no Russians. The invasion was led by Francis Younghusband: en.wikipedia.org

His story is very interesting: "During his 1904 retreat from Tibet, Younghusband had a mystical experience which suffused him with "love for the whole world" and convinced him that "men at heart are divine." [25] This conviction was tinged with regret for the invasion of Tibet, and eventually, in 1936, profound religious convictions invited a founder's address to the World Congress of Faiths"
He went on to preach free love, has been called the first hippie.
