Serious question - if armed citizens come in and start killing rioters what will the police do? Who's side will they take? Because at that point it's all about choosing sides.

I'm not advocating this. I'm predicting it. The left would have to go full riot in the suburbs to have this happen and even then I doubt it. We have the guns but not the will. These thugs can get away with murder but even standing outside our homes holding a gun is enough to get us arrested. We have one brief shining moment with 4/8 years of Trump and then, I fear, back to a Fascist takeover similar to what has happened in Europe. We can see that our large Corporations are all too willing to go the same route that the German ones did in the 30's with Hitler. They are want to trade freedom in exchange for security. Our side is lead by cowards whose main goal in retaining their DC positions. OTOH, although I am a short term pessimist, I am still a long term optimist, in spite of what I am watching happen.
