Excellent points, Paul. It's been said many times that insider sales can be for any reason, but insider buys are for one reason only. Did anyone happen to see the AT&T announcement earlier in the week? Buried in all the downsizing talk was a statement about their upcoming offerings in the wireless arena. They plan to offer cell phones with batteries that last up to 100 hours. I realize the PCS phones don't take as much wattage as the older cellular phones, BUT...any chance they could be getting batteries from VLNC? Any educated guesses?

Mark

Great post Paul! I was told of a recent statement by L.D. that company officers were responding to 60-70 calls per day from shareholders. It apparently wasn't enough that someone would post what he heard from the company. The idea to call the company was probably generated here and, of course, it is always more reassuring when the information is first-hand.

The company is now rediricting this energy to "getting the product out the door." I believe the lack of information has nothing to do with the outcome- only that more energy is available to get the job done!

Thanks to CR and some "FUD" I am pleased to be able to accumulate a few shares in the 4's. I remember hearing in November that what was coming off the production lines was good enough for many OEM's at that time.

With ULBI still months away with their line 1, It appears Valence will indeed be first in the world with automated volume production of Solid-Polymer Lithium-Ion Batteries.

Regards, FMK

C'mon guys, lighten up. If someone wants to try to call and talk to the company, that is their business. DD does not stop when you buy a stock. That is a good recipe for getting your lunch handed to you.

As far as insiders or ex-insiders selling shares, it IS a matter for concern. We don't know the reasons they are selling. It may be they are selling for personal reasons, it may be they are selling to raise money to excercise warrants. But unless we know different, we can't discount the possibility that they are selling because they know something is wrong.

I am less concerned about that than I am the weakness in the stock. A very wise stock picker I know says that if the fundamentals and the technicals don't agree, there is often something about the fundamentals that is not yet commonly known.

I'm still betting that is not the case here. It's possible that a good part of the weakness in the stock is being caused by those very same insider sales. Its also possible they are only selling in order to reaquire their shares at lower prices through the excercise of options.

In the meantime, it is only natural for the weakness in the stock to make people nervous. If people want to try and call the company, that's fine with me. They can always say they are too busy and refer callers to the PR company.
