The issue is about reducing carbon usage, not being self-sufficient in electricity.
The issue is about keeping the damned lights on.

It doesn't matter if we import 100% of our electricity. The point is that we need reliable sources of electric generation. Renewables aren't going to cut it.

Don't you think it's kind of embarrassing for a state as rich and "progressive" as ours to be experiencing blackouts like Venezuela or North Korea?
