What do expect when you name a topic "TA-Beginners"?

Maybe someone should start a new topic called "TA-Advanced", where we spend more time doing what we really want to do...

If I may be so bold as to suggest this tiny little offering;

Write to the Webmistress that you would like to ADD to the Topic Charter of this group with a short blurb about all beginners should check out Andy's site, complete with link for those that don't know how to get there, and that a suggestion first is to look there for many fine offerings that this site has that can benefit the beginner and advanced T/A user.

2nd Paragraph: Those serious about learning T/A should consider reviewing this thread from start (From message #1) through to the current message number on this thread. The knowledge and lessons learned will pay back many times over and over again by learning an understanding of the basics.

Welcome to the thread and your let your T/A journey begin.

The End.

As you can see, by possibly adding a paragraph or two to the header/charter, those new coming in will have a good starting point of a web site devoted to what they are after; the beginnings of how and what T/A is.

I hope this sounds good and if so, I think Andy was the one who actually started this thread so he really should be the one to write to the Webmistress.

Andy, feel free to use any of my wording to add to the header if you are inclined to do this.

Tim

Well Duh, why didn't I think of this a minute ago? You might actually just want to re-write the charter so it is easily understood at the TOP of the page what this topic is about and how to best get answer with Andy's web site. I was going to add here that maybe putting the new addition to the top because I can see that someone sees the header TA-BEGINNERS and doesn't see the wording behind what the conference is about. But if Andy's web page is highlighted in the top portion of the header, they will more likely see it because on their screen it will be highlighted in a color; mine is blue when it sees hypertext links.

Something to ponder to help ease the constant; Go TO Andy's Page, Read Messages 1-7000 for a better understanding, Yes Brooke does live on the street and uses a light post for power to her Cray computer. <g>

Not the intent, We are here to share. My point was that the past posts in this and the TA-indicator and systems and the TA software topics contain a vast amount of what you list. How many times should I have to type the Dahl formula or answer which data source or charting program is better in a month's time? The foundation of knowledge is in the past posts, most of the topics have been active since Sept 1996. The sharp beginners did there homework and read the past posts. This brought them out of the newbie role very fast. The past posts allowed them to speak as equals and more advanced posts result from this reading.

I certainly don't want to shun beginners, I simply ask that they look to the past posts for their basic questions and knowledge. I am happy that this is the home base for a group of the most knowledgeble TA participants on the net. I hope it will always continue.

As for beginners and advanced, in this day of instant experts we see someone with a smattering of knowledge giving faulty TA advice. They move from never seeing a chart a year ago to broadcasting their opinions on market and stock direction here and there. Who is the beginner? who is the advanced?
