All government is an overhead expense that ideally should be minimized. Excesses fall first on those at the bottom of the totem pole. Those well off either don't recognize that fact or don't care, not realizing that heir turn is coming.

We are so incredibly rich that the regression is slow by the standard of our span and is not recognized by those without exposure to good economics. Given the sorry state of our institutions, that seems to be a majority.
