Henry, there is a new tax law that if you shorted against the box you have to cover by Jan 31 of the following year. You can no longer keep the money forever without paying taxes. You then have a 60 day hold on your shares(if you buy to cover) in order to maintain your long term position and the only derivatives allowed are selling covered calls. I wonder if this will come into play. I am a little fuzzy on this.
