I was arguing it isn't a lie to say that Trump said that that there were good people on both sides. It is a lie to say that he wasn't being disingenuous when he said that. Is it a lie to say that Looey in Casablanca was lying when he said "I'm shocked, shocked to find there is gambling here!"? Granted, the latter is a more obvious, theatrical example than the former but Trump's statement was done in reality not a film. IMHO, they are on the same continuum.
