(while TJ is thinking about it)
Beats me. But I well remember laughing at the AMZ valuation after the IPO. I'm not laughing now (but I'm not buying TSLA or APPL either.)

Re <<why would [TSLA ... AAPL] earning grow tenfold in the future?>>

I guess very few possible ways, for TSLA

(1) temporarily outcompete and discount pricing to enlarge the primary market, moving into related products / services, or further afield (batteries, home systems, building / municipal systems, electric airplanes, rockets to Mars, deep sea mining, robot police, thought control, and whatever else per South Seas bubble that investors are willing to fund)

(2) Use expensive stock for cheaper acquisitions (trucks, buses, trains, airplanes, ships, anything that moves), buy Toyota

(3) Internet of cars, providing driving services by way of 5G = Uber + TSLA + AAPL

(4) Mergers

(5) Do all of (1) - (4), fund by 10 more stock splits, or just a 100:1 stock split

(6) Harder for AAPL, buy all companies in some IT index and sort the mess out

(7) Growing primary market sales would be difficult. The mathematics says so for AAPL, but not theoretically impossible for TSLA.
