RJC;
I don't know who your "source's" are so I can't judge their credibility but I have been to 3 demonstrations of SRCM's technology and would note the following
A representative from Next Level , a woman named Dale Popovich from investor relations was there and she was talking up their relationship with SRCM as they demonstrated their technology using NLV's digital set top box. It works. However, it can't be digitally employed until cable co's take delivery and install these boxes into homes and offer these services to their customers. The service is commercial and market tested in analog form in Century Cable in Colorado Springs and is getting excellent ratings. So as to the press release, it is commercial, it is market tested, and it is now designed for the digital platform.

I also believe that Scientific Atlanta's boxes will be deployed before NLV's with Time Warner and Comcast in the 1st and 2nd qtr. of this year while TCI won't be until later this year or early 99.

SRCM announced compatability with Microsoft's and Sun's operating systems. This just means that now that cable co's are settling on what operating systems they will use in their boxes SRCM's software is available to be run on these systems. They don't need to have any agreements with them just as any number of software co's don't have agreements with MSFT but their software runs on windows 95.

I have been following this co for about 1 year and speak regularly with mgmt. and everything they have told me so far!! has played out the way they said.
1. The cable co's had to decide to make their investment to purchase new digital boxes. Done
2.They then had to decide on an open standard for applications to prevent any one co.[msft] from controlling the industry. Done
3. They needed to settle on what operating systems would be used in the boxes. Mostly done.
Now you should start to see the application's co's[srcm] start to get their attention. This should play out in the coming months.

I am no expert here, just an investor and would appreciate any additional comments, positive or negative. There's not alot of input on this board.
Regards;
