As I've been telling Stockman, the big advantage that Intel has are the abilility to keep the current flagship chip at least 2 speed grades above AMD. Big Mhz (or PR rating) sells. I won't even include Cyrix here because I think they are going off in a different direction.
Right now, all AMD has is a 233...Maybe some .25u 266s soon from Compaq and IBM. Maybe March-April until any 266s are available in the reseller market. Meanwhile Intel will have pushed the Pentium II to 350 and 400Mhz. Does that really speed things up that much? Probably not but the high speed chips allow Intel to price the lower/equal speed chips more agressively. I wish they would price them even more agressively one speed grade over the 233 K6, BTW.
Charts are projecting 85+ for the stock within the next week...
Are you learning anything about those Bollinger Bands, Stockman...very bullish...
Jim

Tom - Re: "I don't think AMD and Cyrix can possibly match Intel with all these products, can they?"

I think you have reached the same conclusion that many investors have recently reached - AMD and Cyrix can each squirt out about one chip a year, two at the very best.

If those offerings aren't competitive, AMD and Cyrix will lose money.

AMD and Cyrix are losing money.
