I was in a big cvs store yesterday. I needed to purchase a digital thermometer. I went on line saw someone what selling them for $8 target had them for $10. but i was right by a cvs so i went in. i was the only customer in the store. When I asked for a digital thermometer the salesperson said they were behind the counter he pulled one out. no price on it. I said how much is it he rang it up . it was cvs house brand and it was over $14.
I said no thanks and went to target where i purchased one from vicks for $10, I could have bought a cheaper one for $5. I dont know what they are charge for other goods but this doesnt encourage me to return to CVS anytime soon. I guess I am not surprised that CVS is empty and target and walmart are full of customers.

OT rants

1. I am finding it impossible to get through to talk to someone at brokerages. I want to put in a premarket order at fidelity and was told i had to speak to someone in trading. after three phone calls and 60 minutes on hold i gave up. I have to find a new home for a significant amount of money and thought it was a no brainer to funnel the money to fidelity but now i am having second thoughts.

. I made a mistake i guess in a stock transaction today . i ended up buying 1100 shares instead of 100 shares. I tried to call ameritrade to fix it cause initially i thought i might violate some regulation if i sold it myself, but when i called I was told the wait time was in excess of 40 minutes. . so fortunately i was able to sell those 1000 shares myself at a loss of $7. I am considering opening an account with Chase. anyone have experience with their brokerage?

2. If you are considering opening an checking account with TD bank reconsider. I have been a customer for fifteen years. and had a ridiculously embarassing situation with them that has made me decide to close my accounts with them and move on. I spoke to several people at the bank before hand to try to line all the ducks in a row. and when a friend of mine armed with a Power of Attorney went to the bank to conduct a transaction on my behalf as a favor to me they told him he would have to wait 30 days to do it. A piece of information that not one person I spoke to shared with me ahead of time. No apology for this no offer to help or expedite the situation. Nothing. Despite their adveritising they are the least convenient bank to deal with.

WGA (Walgreens) down 9%: They cut guidance.

This news may have affected CVS which dropped a couple of dollars at the open.

CVS seems to me to have some ok prospects going forward with their insurance segment and attempts to expand healthcare services. I added a little to my tracking position.
