"The climate stopped changing for eight years." Well, aside from the fact that the 3 hottest years were '16, '15, and '14, you might be on to something. I suspect it is either national good karma or luck with O, and the opposite with Trump, or God rewarded us for electing O, and is punishing us for Trump. O certainly brought luck to Bay Area sports teams. It says "major 'canes"; Sandy happened under O, but it was "only" a post-tropical cyclone at landfall.
