I agree. It's been kind of amazing- especially since we've folded in all those unhappy republicans. That is what the democrats should be- a party of many voices. I just didn't expect to see that, sans circular firing squad. But maybe this year...

Biden is keeping it together and so is the left.

We need to remember the left and the establishment are about 50/50 and that means they have to share and work together. The "establishment" cannot force their agenda with no consideration for the priorities of the left.

And the left is not so left, Warren and a good portion of both the house and senate.

Behind the scenes Biden has been working with Bernie for months and even allowed universal health care to be put on the platform.

And we need to remember Hillary herself, blamed Jill Stein for her loss, not Bernie.

And I saw a lot of Jill Stein sympathizers right here on SI by Democrats of all ilk.

And I told them that was not a wise policy, that we all needed to get behind Hillary.

Third parties are death as I have pointed out many times.

And the left is working on the same page as the establishment, that electing Biden is job one; and have only been having skirmishing where it does not effect the election against Trump too much e.g. house races.

Both Biden and the left are minding their P's and Q's and we need to recognize that.

IMO, they have both met halfway and that is pretty good.

We cannot just look at where the left is impolitic and then ignore where the establishment is.impolitic e.g. when they flex their muscle for their own gain with little regard for the left, that is after all, half the party.

I'm frankly surprised at just how adept Biden has been keeping the factions together. I have the sense the last couple of articles I've posted, while raising serious points, are not really something to worry about. Just journalists needing articles to make a living, finding a topic their editors would publish, and laying it on a bit thick.

One of these is on the front page of the NYTimes today about a 2001 trip Biden made to China.
