Wharfie, Emoluments? That wouldn't work. No, the allegation that Trump directly asked Xi to help him get re-elected. At least in the case of Ukraine, Trump had a valid reason for asking them to investigate Hunter Biden. It was all in the context of the Ukrainian government being overly corrupt. Sure, he asked them to investigate the son of a political opponent, but that could be argued away as a coincidence. But to directly ask Xi to help him get re-elected, especially in the context of American farmers, is about as explicit as you can get to asking for illegal foreign influence.
