I have considered SSD drives in the future but not for speed which for me hasn't been an issue, but for silence..

My NAS is positioned near where most of my media hardware is located and it can be relatively noisy even when idle. I first noticed this SSD benefit when I upgraded my old Ipod from a traditional HD to SSD and the clicking sound common on Ipod drives was gone.
