Overland Data, Inc. has joined with TeraStor Corp. to incorporate a new generation of removable disk technology into Overland's automated data library products. Under the agreement, both companies will integrate TeraStor's near filed recording technology products into Overland's family of scalable library products. Near field recording allows for a new class of rewriteable, random access mass storage products.

This story was taken from EE News. I was just wondering when TeraStor will begin shipping? These sorts of announcements are interesting, but when will they become a reality?

Also, see WDC has beaten estimates, but still returning a dismal quarter. Funny how beating an already trashed estimate can make you feel optomistic. Anyway, revenues down and charges much larger than projected.

I guess it's pretty obvious that WDC has been dumping TFI inventory big time to get past this point. What an amazing deal to see them so sure of this technology and then do 180 degrees with this result. In the mean time, they take everyone else down with them (and have the cheek to blame Fujitsu).

I wonder what their inventory is like now? I should think if they've run thru most of their TFI products and have ramped MR, we'll see some of the dumping pressure receed? Will they get thru this MR ramp unscathed? Will others benefit if they have stopped dumping, and have not ramped MR fast enough?

Hope we get some reports from the CC.

EMC seems to be doing well on all this misery, and I guess that was obvious. Anyway, still a lot of drives being sold, just a matter of geting inventory in line to get back to profits. Hope it's possible.

Regards,

Mark
