MNF 2020 Week 1: Steelers at Giants in MetLife Stadium ...

• Should the Giants win tonight the Giants will share 1st place in the NFC East with the Washington Football team after Cowboys and Eagles Week 1 losses.Ea.

• Overall, the Giants lead the series 44-30-3. In the Ben Roethlisberger era, however, the Steelers have a 3-1 edge.

• Now in his second season, this will be Giants quarterback Daniel Jones’ second only appearance on MNF. Last year, New York played host to Dallas in November.

• Jones’ 26 completions for 210 yards, touchdown, interception and 54 rushing yards led to a 74 QB rating. The Cowboys sacked Jones five times on their way to defeating the Giants 37-18.

• Fumble-itus was real for the rookie in 2019. Jones was the league-leader in fumbles (18) and lost 11 of them. Look for the Steelers to take advantage of this weakness that may carry over.

• Despite this week’s game being the start of 50 years of “Monday Night Football,” this is only the second time the Steelers have faced the Giants on MNF. Their last Monday night matchup was in 1991 at Three Rivers Stadium, where Pittsburgh squeaked by New York, 23-20.

• Though it’s been three seasons since the Ben and the Steelers won their first game of the season, Roethlisberger has a 9-6 record in Week 1.

• With a win Monday, the Steelers would tie the San Francisco 49ers for the all-time lead in most wins on “Monday Night Football.” The 49ers have 49 wins; the Steelers, 48; and the Dallas Cowboys, 47. <<
