Forbidden Planet is one of the best films of all time. I watched The Blob last night and while it doesn’t compare to Forbidden Planet was still entertaining.

Forbidden Planet, Day The Earth Stood Still & examples you cite R Classics. Bigger remakes, with size & special effects over doses don't even come close to hiding lower quality acting, plots, direction & editing.

With a few exceptions, like The Matrix? Hollywood, the past 20 yrs, has declined into a hollow shell of what it once was.
