Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: We'll be watching the House of Commons later today where a vote could set the wheels in motion for a fall election. Lawmakers will be voting on the Conservative Party of Canada's proposal - deemed a confidence matter by the Liberals - to create a new parliamentary committee that would be tasked with probing alleged misuse of government funds during the pandemic. The Liberals' minority government holds 154 of 338 seats in the House and will need the support of Jagmeet Singh’s NDP to survive the vote; yesterday, he was non-committal about his voting intentions. If he and his party choose to abstain (which one of our CTV News colleagues noted on Twitter isn’t out of the question), that’ll complicate matters. BNN.ca
