***Others may Skip if you don't care about cricket***** Ike, a great match indeed. Much like the one in Sharjah in which Pak won with Javed Mian Dad hitting a 6 off Chetan Sharma. However, this one has had higher target. Of course I was happy to see India win. But as they say, there is no loser in that game. Rarely we see this basketball type finish in Cricket. Re. Alvin Kallicharan, Sarfraz et. al. You are a big shot, aren't you? I used to like the way Asif Iqbal [ole Hyderabadi, you know - some regional bias. I am from Andhra! -g-] and Javed ran between the wickets. Always admired Imran, the captain and the bowler. For whatever reason, I never liked Javed's lack of sportsman spirit. I used to be a great fan of Kapil Dev. I guess I still like him as a player and to some extant as captain. Per my assessment, he is one of the very few with killer instincts and fighting spirit in Indian team. Imran's Pak team was full of players with killer instincts. Had Kapil been given good support at the other end (someone like Sarfraz), he would have excelled even more. Vishwanath, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sayed Kirmani, Pataudi, Yashpal Sharma and Srikanth are the other "fighters" I like. I like Gavaskar, the batsman and I can't stand Ravi Sashtri. Vishwanath, Zaheer and Azhar have great class in batting. It is a delight to wath them play. Tell Alvin for me that he has an admirer in me. I very well remember his team's visit to India in early 80's and his stylish 100 (or was it 200?) in Kanpur. That was the year they discovered Marshall, the ferocious bowler. These days I don't pay much attenction to cricket. I watched Tendulkar play for the first time. Boy, is he good! Regards. -Mohan
