I could never under why the Blacks use it though, its a word that would die out if people stopped using it, as a Kid I only used that word to buy a little black candy, we didn't know what it meant

We Asians don't call each other "chinks."

Latinos don't call each other "spics" or "wetbacks."

Jews don't call each other "hymies."

There is no logic in using a word that people use to denigrate your own race as a form of "camaraderie."
