postulates that the term "kike" was coined as a put-down by the assimilated U.S. Jews from Germany to identify eastern European and Russian Jews: "Because many Russian [Jewish] names ended in 'ki', they were called 'kikes'—a German Jewish contribution to the American vernacular.

It's my understanding, and I did some research, poorer Russians and Poles added an "ski" to their names in an attempt to raise their standing in their respective societies.... However, Jews used the "sky" spelling to differentiate themselves from Christians.....bear in mind as time goes by this is not always the case but generally it still is.... Eastern Europe names also have a feminine ending for women's names, usually an "a" hence Kruschev's wife is Kruscheva, note all the European tennis players.....Ivana and Ivanka, Melania with the ka or ca versions attached to the girl when she is a child which then often sticks with her.

The Vietnamese were dubbed "gooks" and "slopes" by the American GI's

The Japanese? All our lives, ie before and after WWII they were simple called Japs even by respectable newspapers like the Times...
