MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Mingo Bay Beverages, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: MGBA) has today announced that the Company is negotiating
the acquisition of Slim Tropics from the Nordyke Group, Inc. of Ventura,
California.
Slim Tropics manufactures fruit juice-based drinks from nutraceutical
formulations which are fat-burners. "Thermo Genisis products of all types are
very popular with Americans and with the recent demise of Phen-Fen we feel
like this is a good opportunity for us," said Larry Moses of Mingo Bay. "With
the 72 drink flavors that we now have we feel as though we can develop some
interesting and marketable products with the help of Dr. Nordyke," said Moses.
Under the terms being discussed, Mingo Bay would acquire all rights to
"Slim Tropics" trademark as well as their formulations. Dr. Randy Nordyke who
developed the formulas would remain as a part of Mingo Bay.
"We have already put a group of dynamic people and products together and
Slim Tropics would be an excellent addition," said Moses.
Mingo Bay is currently talking with former IBM Executive David Robinson
about stepping in to take over its day to day operations which would allow
Moses to get back into the marketing arena. Former Amana/Rayethon executive
Bill Marcil is overseeing the smokeless cooker project and former Marriott
executive Phil Randall is working the foodservice division.
Mingo Bay is a manufacturer of tea, liquid coffee, juice and bar mix
concentrates as well as Springhouse bottled water. Additionally "The Mingo
Millenium" smokeless cooker will be introduced this spring.
