Pretty sure you are out of luck. HP bought Compaq which had acquired DEC(Digital) so they probably have no interest in compensating you at all. If you had contacted Compaq close to when they acquired digital they may have compensated with cash, Compaq shares, or a combination. When HP acquired Compaq they may have compensated people holding Compaq shares but not digital. It's been such a long time as well. If you hold any digital(DEC) shares unfortunately their current worth is 0$. With that said it never hurts to ask. Contact investors relations at HP and see what they say. Maybe you'll get a discount off your next printer.
