I agree w/ you we need to do a lot more than raking forest lands (done here at Tahoe in the Federal Forests).

Building the infrastructure to update & operate a smart-grid (including micro-grids) to me is a critical 1st step in advancing the 'efficient' use of our energy. Have you made any investments in this area?

I have a few based on research I have done:

(1) Recent Buys in EMR (Emerson Electric)

Emerson Expands Commitment to Advanced Software Solutions with Agreement to Purchase Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI Inc.) $1.6Bln aquisition

Digitization is critical for the power industry to modernize and improve the reliability of the electric grid. Incorporating clean and renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, requires balancing the variable nature of renewable energy with the often bi-directional demands of the grid. By combining Emerson’s domain expertise and leading technology in power generation with OSI Inc.’s complementary software and reach within the power transmission and distribution sectors, the acquisition will equip customers with the end-to-end ability to monitor, control and optimize real-time operations across the power enterprise through scalable, software-enabled automation and data management.

(2) Buys in Wisconsin Energy Corp (WEC) who owns Peoples Natural Gas located in PA, started to scale their to the Home NG Fuels Cells that generate 'clean' electricity

WEC Energy Group is the natural gas distribution company. WEC Energy Group, Inc., formerly known as Wisconsin Energy Corporation, is based in MILWAUKEE, United States.

Peoples has joined forces with WATT Fuel Cell in Mount Pleasant, PA for a pilot project to bring natural gas fuel cells into homes like yours. Together we’re rethinking how we generate electricity right at home. Keep an eye on this page for future opportunities with residential fuel cells.
Environmentally Friendly: Natural gas fuel cells use no combustion, and the only main byproducts are water and heat.

Low-Cost Fuel: Natural gas is cheap and abundant. Instead of paying for electricity generated from a power plant, you can use a resource that is already being delivered to your home to create the energy you need. Fuel cells produce electricity on-site, so you don't lose it in transmission.

Efficient Technology: According to the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association, fuel cells are highly efficient, with fuel-to-electricity efficiency at 60 percent — almost double that of the electric grid. Plus if the fuel cell’s heat byproduct is harnessed, its efficiency can reach 90 percent or more.

NOTE: Several Large Cities in CA (ie San Jose) has passed legislation that forbids running Natural Gas pipes to new residential construction including ADU's. How stupid is that. That eliminates the use of clean NG micro-grid fuel cell technology.

(3) Position in Bloom Energy Corp Cl A (BE)

Bloom Energy Corporation generates and distributes renewable energy. It supplies electricity to the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Bloom Energy Corporation is based in CA, United States.
BE is only 1st generation Fuel Cell technology and not as efficient as the WATT Fuel Cell but one of the only pure plays in NG fuel cell technology. Plug Power, Ballard Power and FuelCell Energy are others.

Private sector investments creates change. I doubt you have made any investments in this area to create change other than just complain about it. I am always open to new investment ideas.

FWIW, Trump supports private investment (less taxes in general). That allows me to allocate some of my capital into solutions that the private sector can develop and create change. It's the American way.
