I remember a rare earth company that was desperate to get some depth to their board and lined up some consultants who got stock options for lending their name to the shenanigans. One of the most famous consultants who belonged to countless boards was Dr. Tony Mariano, and I see he was once an advisor to MDL.

MDL might be a scam but plenty of scams make money for speculators. The trick is to put in a sell order the moment you buy, view your speculation as toxic Your speculation does not qualify as an investment unless the company has earnings and pays a dividend. Then again MDL might be real but that is no guarantee it will ever appreciate much in value. The biggest winners are traders willing to sell for small gains as often as possible.
