I was talking with investor relations and they indicated to me, the evening of the release, that "LU's press release just took them by surprise"

I agree that Ciena will prosper. Smaller and more adaptable, strong contract and customer base. Friends at Compaq. But, I think Lucent will prosper too. There is a TON of business in this area, enough for everybody. Tom
