Miraje,
Ginsburg fucked up by refusing to relinquish her position earlier, and then managing to croak at an inopportune time.
Her last chance to retire without getting replaced by a conservative was in 2014 during the lame duck session of Congress.

That's the thing about RBG. She is the type of lady who was going to work until the day she dies. Unfortunately for her and the left, we don't get to choose when we die.
