IIRC, we approved some reservoir money during the drought. They can supply electricity, as well as water. It wouldn't be the first time.
Got a link? I've always been a big believer in more water reservoirs, more dams, more hydro power, and more water for residents and agriculture.

Of course, Californian environmentalists always oppose them because, you know, that's what they do.
