Not sure I follow your question. I use a laptop and a desktop, no longer for much business as I retired long ago. For years I used Thunderbird on both machines to handle my email with no problems. Comcast was handling all this and I never thought about it.

About 5 years ago I moved to another state that didn't offer Comcast at that time. However Comcast told me I could continue to use the Comcast email address, which I did. But, I also added a gmail account when I went with Cox Communications in my new location. I use gmail for the most part and it works fine on both machines. The Comcast email problem just began fairly recently but I'm not sure of the start date. It's the same on both machines.

I'd get rid of Thunderbird and go some where else if I knew what that might be and how to go about it. I'd rather make T-bird work as it did and let me move on.

Thanks for coming in here. I'm at a loss without some guidance.
