I beleive it may have been some panic "buying" at market prices.
Someone afraid of missing the boat, and the MM's did what comes natural, up the ask, and leave the bid where it is!

James, I always thought that a narrow spread indicated nervouseness, i.e., a need to add shares. Did I miss an important lecture in the syllabus?
