The evening news had something by Greenspan re: Asia had not affected the U.S. yet but it was coming. Exports are down 20/30%. Not many ships loaded going out, lots of ships with cheap goods coming in. Boeing experiencing cancellations or delay delivery. Lumber for Japan slows and prices decline. American Mfg's probably have to cut prices and lay off people to be competitive. Rolling snow balls do get larger. When will all this sink in. If Wall St. keeps having 100 + days, when it finally sinks in, we might have a - 1000 day with the new and improved trading curbs.

< facts from the rim will resume come Sunday night >

An Asian bill collector was interviewed several weeks ago. He said business for him was up, but many more business failures would happen just after Chinese New Year.

Evidently many businesses that are on the verge of bankruptcy will want to hold out for the extra money that comes in during the big buying season. This guy was in the trenches, collecting bills, and expected to see a lot of business failures after New Years, when people will cut back even more on spending.
