I do some work in the satellite field, and about 50% of the commercial business recently has been Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and China etc.). Thus, they are much more exposed than most industries. Also, unlike with the developed world, the developing world often buys satellites as a status symbol (often their existing satellites are nowhere near capacity or end-of-life), and so they are more expendible in times of trouble. This problem probably doesn't carry over too much to other areas (like a phone system).
