The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges consisting of representatives from the trade and business press, industry research firms, the financial community and academia.
They were evaluated on the basis of innovation, industry contribution, integration with current product lines, migration capabilities and return on investment.
To qualify for the competition, products must have been introduced for the first time at ComNet Washington, or announced within eight weeks preceding ComNet and cannot have been introduced or exhibited in the same form at previous trade shows.
"The New Product Achievement Awards is a compelling way to judge products," said Stephen Elliott, New Product Achievement Awards judge and senior network and systems analyst for BRG.
"It's representative of not only the people whose job it is to assess technology, but also those people who use the technology * the ComNet attendees."
All of the New Product Achievement Awards finalists will remain on display through January 29 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center, and can be identified on the exposition floor by large, blue "Winner" ribbons.
ComNet Washington, D.C. is expected to attract close to 50,000 professionals to the Washington, D.C. Convention Center to witness more than 500 companies demonstrating the latest telecommunications and networking technologies.
