RE: Facts about Superdisk that most bulls don't know.

KP,

I also didn't realize that they had sold 1.4M drives. At last count (many, many months ago) they were at 300,000 to 600,000. I believe 1.4M is more than any of SyQuest's individual drives. (I think SyQuest is at about 4M total drives in the history of their company.)

Still far behind Iomega and losing ground rapidly, though.

I hope the hype continues. The first 12 million were great!

Every day, I feel more and more that Iomega chose the right time to start their massive Ad Blitz. It's like a relay race. "Word of Mouth" has finished the first leg of the race and is now passing the baton to "Advertising Blitz".

<<Compaq, Gateway 2000, and Acer America offer superdisk as the
standard floppy on some machines>>

I just checked the web sites for Gateway, Compaq and Acer.
None of them offer the LS-120 superdisk as a standard feature
or an option on their computers that I could find.

They did however all offer the Zip drive either as a standard
feature or an option.

The LS-120 is dead, has been dead for a while and always will
be dead.

WHAT??? Didn't any of the bulls know that? I bet very little did.
This is what happens when you close your eyes and get caught in the
hype.<<

Ken -

Those same manufacturers also offer Zip as standard or optional on their machines. Guess which machines sell most.

According to Compaq, one of the biggest LS-120 backers at one time, their models with Zip continue to sell better than other models in the same lines.
