Never tire of the beautiful panoramic scenery. Cattle look like tiny children's toys on hillsides 1/2 mile distant. Luv to watch the landscape change with the seasons. Lived in 7 different states. Mostly, outlying, more rural, blurbs. Never seen a more vibrant, dynamic, or varied local environment. Lost count of different wildflowers, herbs, insects, & small animals we've never seen anywhere else, except TV documentaries. 3 acre lawn, gardens, orchard & landscaping are complimented by adjacent 25 acre hardwood timber stand covering low hills we own to the south. Almost did selective harvest of mature red & white oak this year. Sue convinced me we'd be 4 or 5 years too early. No hurry. Part of 1st timbered hill, to the south, in photo below. Neighbors house, background left. CPA & Budget Dir. for County School System. Only 35 & a solid conservative. As we all know, neighbors R important. Also fortunate to own 50% of the mineral rights beneath, not only our 29 surface acres but also 4 neighbors surface acreage fields. That adds 70 more mineral acres. Predominantly natural gas, natural liquids & some oil. One of the biggest gas wells in WV history was completed only a few miles away, last year. It delineated massive proven gas reserves in the Marcellus & Utica Shales. This adds to several more shallow zones known when we bought the place in 2008, but pale by comparison. A lifetime of hard work, saving & successful investing to get here. It was worth it. Iso
