Isn’t it funny how people can’t deal with numbers.... globally, we have almost 35 million “confirmed” cases and a million deaths, 1 in 35 cases, right? Oh, wait a minute, it’s actually 750 million infections and a million deaths, 1 in 750.

So, which one is it? If you read papers or watch TV, it’s the former. If - as the uber popular expression goes - you listen to science - it’s the latter.

It’s very convenient - you pick the “truth” that better serves your purpose.

1:35 gets a better reception. It keeps people serious, scared and focused. 1:750 is just a bland statistic. What’s so extreme if 1 very old, sick person out of your typical 750 infections buys the farm?

If this number sinks in, it may even raise some uncomfortable questions, like - why have we wiped out our economy? Why do we deny education to children?
