Think of how it will be in your late 80's when you no longer can drive and have to either walk to the store, get a cab, or pay to have stuff delivered. Your utility bills by then will be horrible. The odds of you living into your 90's are very good. You might think about investing in a home in one of the Florida villages for retired and rent it out for now. Those here in the West might be wise to do the same thing with an Arizona or California retirement community. If nothing else it's cost will rocket over the next 20 years. It will be one of the best investments you could make.
