Sadly I agree with you.

I for one have felt that Goodell nneds to go.

He's a political beast.

What is needed is real and sometimes out of favor leadership.

If Goodell would have fined the teams when a player kneels and talked about American solidarity it would have gained attendees. If he challenged objectors to work within the community and provide community mentoring and hands on leadership (think JJ Watts), the whole world would love football.

Next in line should have been the owners. Jerry Jones should have (and did to a degree) taken the lead. He owns the team and stadium and doesn't have to take crap from anybody - including a premadonna player.

If they had done that (like Lombardi would have) - they'd have gained more viewership.
