Nothing is taken as gospel.
The point is that you like to pick-n-choose your data points.

One WHO official guestimates that 750M people worldwide caught the coronavirus. You take that guestimate without question.

But official statistic counters place deaths worldwide at 1M, and deaths in America at 200K. You assume those numbers are grossly inflated, or at least inflated in America.

The truth is that we don't know how many undetected cases of COVID-19 are out there. Without reliable indicators like widespread testing for antibodies, that number will fluctuate a LOT.

But we do know how many confirmed cases there are, and how many deaths there are. Those numbers are harder to fudge.
