Today, I received an offer from Amazon by mail for a 99c trial of the unlimited music service. Like a piece of paper in an envelope delivered by the USPS. That seemed like a VERY un-Amazon thing for them to do. It probably means nothing at all but maybe a small sign that growth is getting tougher?

Regarding Google (GOOG), "...is it too late now?"I posted this 4/4/20:

GOOG. Added a little yesterday. My estimate of fair value for this year's earnings is $1250/sh. Stock closed at $1098. Not a bargain price, but if there are going to be survivors and thrivers in the stock market, GOOG likely will be one, given its financial strength and diverse operations.

I've gone back now and calculated what I might consider as fair value:

Using my profit margin metric, fair value is $1072/sh. Falling because profit margins have dropped.

Using my operating earnings metric, fair value is $1523/sh.

Quite a range for the stock which closed today at $1486.

Whether it's too late for someone to buy now, having never bought, several factors would be involved. Some trains leave without us, and we just have to accept that and try to find something else. OTOH, there are people out there buying in total a million or more shares everyday. Want skin in the game? The question ALWAYS one has to ask oneself is, how long would I be willing to hold?

I've not sold any shares. I will continue to hold because of GOOG dominant position. I won't add any shares at these prices though.

>> Of those companies the only one I could have invested in was google and i m sorry I didnt. Is it too late now?

If you now like what they do and if the price is right, why not? <G>

>> Google was a great search engine, but again for me it was difficult to see that not only would they sell ad, stifle the competition but that they would also pretty much steal your data without your permission and sell it.
